Venugopal is the Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India and has been active practitioner since last fifty four years He enrolled himself as an Advocate at Madras High Court in 1955. Thrice he had been the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association. In terms of Offices he had been the President of Several national and international Legal forums including that of the SAARC LAW and Indo French Legal Forum. He has delivered several Public lectures at different universities in India and abroad. He also has the distinction of delivering Capital Foundation Annual Lecture on Contempt Jurisdiction of the Court. In his long and distinguished legal career he has successfully fought cases of high and mighty. Mr Venugopal has also published several research papers. In recognition of his brilliant legal career Capital Foundation is honouring him with Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer Award 2007.[/box]
